Meet Brittney
Teacher. Volunteer. Activist.
A teacher; a volunteer; an activist. When Brittney chose Lewis County as her home, she never looked back. And ever since she has spent much of her free time working on service projects, attending local governmental and non-profit meetings, donating to causes, helping with fundraisers, and working towards electing the best candidates for West Virginia.
Now Brittney is running for the House of Delegates because she believes we need more teachers, young people, and women in the legislature. With her active involvement in the community and her connections to changemakers across the state she knows she has the tools and resources to be the best voice for the 46th district. Real change begins with average people: people who see a need and try to fill it, people who seek help when they want to change their lives, people who donate their time and money to making the world a better place for everyone. A WV Can't Wait Candidate, Brittney has signed a pledge vowing to stand up for working people, to never cross a picket line, to never back down from a debate, and to NEVER take corporate cash - this people's driven movement is exactly what our state needs to see systematic change and to fight corruption at all levels of government.
Brittney lives in Lewis County with her husband, her cats and her dogs. She teaches English at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. She is an active member of Lewis County First; is the president of the local Upshur County AFT union; a member of the WV UNITED Caucus; involved in SILT (School Improvement Leadership Team) and LSIC (Local School Improvement Council) at BUHS; and former chair of Lewis County's National Night Out event.
